Call for Artists + Instructors: Drop In PROGRamming

Curiosity Studio is seeking artists and instructors to host drop-in programming at the studio between October 12th 2026 - April 15th, 2027. 

Drop in programming can take place in one of two styles:

Open Studio:  Invite others into the creative process through a concept or idea. Your drop in will encourage creative exploration and connection amongst participants. Each facilitator will hold space while providing an accessible entry point to the creative process for participants. Ample materials will be provided for participants to explore the concept with. Past themes include poems, music, inspiration from famous artworks, seasons or abstract concepts.

Skill Share: A drop in offering that invites participants to learn a creative skill outside of a traditional class format. Use the space for teaching a skill that benefits from ample time to practice but requires short instruction. Some participants may stop by briefly while others may stay and practice or socialize. Past examples include still life and figure drawing events, poster making or community work days. 

As you write the proposal, Curiosity Studio will offer the following:

- A $300 stipend.

- Studio access for a 3 hour program. 

- Spotlighting your offering on our website.

- Sink access in the studio and an adjoining gender neutral bathroom.

- 5 work tables of adjustable height.

- A large range of tools and materials are available on site. Requests can be made up to $100 per program. We will also make creative suggestions based on your proposal.

Applicants must live in Minnesota. 

IMPORTANT DATES

Submission deadline:  September 27th by 11:59pm.

Invitations + planning conversations will happen the week of September 28th- October 2nd.

All applicants will be notified by October 12th.

Additional info:

  • Programming can be facilitated by more than one artist. Please upload necessary info for both artists within the same application.

  • Selections will be made by Curiosity Studio’s leadership committee. We desire to offer a wide-array of programs during this schedule whether it be medium, skills or concepts.

  • The studio comfortably fits 15-20 guests at one time. Drop in programming will be designated as first come, first served. Historically participant attendance at drop in programming ranges from 10-40 individuals.
