BIPOC Open Studio: March
BIPOC Open Studio: March
Thursday, March 20th, 6-8 pm
Facilitator: Pauline
Theme: Sea Creatures
Did you also want to be a marine biologist when you grew up? Do the bright colors of coral bring you inexplicable joy? Have you ever wanted to hug a stingray? Or maybe you admire the whales and jellyfish from afar. Writers like Alexis Pauline Gumbs (Undrowned: Black Feminist Lessons from Marine Mammals) and Sabrina Imbler (How far the Light Reaches: A Life in Ten Sea Creatures) show us the lessons these underwater creatures have for us on land. Come make art inspired by the sea creatures and play in the hyperfixation so many of us shared as children, and perhaps still share as adults. :)
*Advanced registration required*
