MEA Break: Beginner Hand Puppet
MEA Break: Beginner Hand Puppet
October 14-16th 9am-12pm
Grades 2-5
Instructor: Karly Gesine Bergmann
Hand Puppets for Beginners: Have you ever wanted to make your very own hand puppet? To develop a character of your very own creation?
Puppetry is a wonderful combination of the visual and performing arts. Join internationally-recognized puppeteer Karly Gesine Bergmann as she leads participants through the process of building their first hand puppet character. Over the course of this class we will create a puppet head using papier-mache. Then, a costume is created and a brief presentation of the character is devised and rehearsed. The class culminates in a celebratory showing of our work for family and friends.
Skills: Puppet making uses range of fine motor skills. While students will be encouraged to develop their own individual creation, guidance and support will be available throughout to support their creative journey.
