Zines as Vessels

Instructor: Gabi

In this workshop, you will be introduced to a few different methods of creating zines: small DIY booklets. Approaches will range from simple, one-page folding methods to a basic introduction to paper stitching. We will cover a brief history of zines as autonomous publications and their use in disseminating ideas and information.

Zines can be a great vessel for capturing and sharing stories, art, or virtually anything!

Accessibility: No previous skills required. Fine motor skills will be used to fold paper. Decorating/customization of zines can be adapted to whatever needs. Duration of class can be spent seated.

Masks required in class, additional ones will be provided.

If you would like to request a community-funded seat to support in covering the cost of this class, please email us at curiositystudioclass@gmail.com.

This activity is supported by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
