  • Curiosity Studio 3607 East Lake Street Minneapolis, MN, 55406 United States (map)

Community Sewing Project

It’s cold. Show solidarity with our neighbors and make sure everyone has a hat.

Join us at 9 am on Friday, January 17th to cut out fabric for hats that will be sewn collectively. Drop by the studio when you can, we will be cutting out hats until we run out of fabric.

By making these hats collectively, we aim to create something tangible and warm as well as connect with each other. Our activities will also express solidarity with garment workers around the world by sewing hats together instead of purchasing them from greedy retailers. This activity will take part in phases; inviting folks to connect at whatever level they can and to share in the practice of sewing collectively.

At any point in the process, feel free to donate to the following initiatives that are providing immediate distribution of resources to Southside Minneapolis: Autonomous Yurt Union (AYU); venmo: @ayu-mpls and Southside Food Share; Venmo: @southside-foodshare
