Lindsey Mackereth, MA, LPCC, LADC
Lindsey, owner of Method Counseling, is a creative-minded therapist + coach who uses collaboration, conversation and connection to cultivate meaningful change in areas of career, creativity and relationship with self + others. She is a licensed mental health clinician in the state of Minnesota and her clinical expertise includes working with the unique aspects of creative minds as well as career stress, anxiety, depression, life transitions, eating issues and addiction.
Lindsey’s clinical approach is creative, direct, forward-thinking, holistic + non-judgmental (with a splash of humor) and her previous experience includes providing therapy to adolescents and adults in a variety of settings including outpatient, intensive outpatient and residential treatment centers. Additionally, she has experience teaching undergraduate psychology and counseling courses, is a board-certified clinical supervisor in the state of Minnesota, and serves as the Marketing Chair on the board of the MN Counseling Association.
Lindsey embraces creativity in her clinical work due to her own creative inclinations as an art maker and absorber. She obtained a BFA in studio art, with a focus on video art, and worked in the field of post-production for advertising prior to pursuing a career as a therapist. As someone who values art + creativity and has worked in the creative industry, Lindsey understands the dichotomy of the creative process as self-care as well as a source of stress. Away from the office, Lindsey enjoys (in no particular order) running, art-absorbing, documentary-watching, coffee-drinking + candy-eating.
Hello, my name is Julie McKay. I am a psychologist, a mother, a wife, a pet lover, an outdoor enthusiast mixed with a couch potato, and an artist. I value the creative process and what it reflects about our personal journeys. It’s messy, challenging, enriching, enlightening, at times depressing and at other joyous. When working with individuals in therapy my approach is to help you think about yourself as a whole person, with thoughts, emotions, behavior patterns, physical signals, and creative energy. All of these parts can be messy, enriching, depressing, or joyous. My goal in working with you is to help you feel that these parts of yourself are more aligned with the type of person you truly want to be. I believe that when we are healthy people, we have healthy relationships, and this helps us have more satisfying lives. I help people who are feeling overwhelmed, have obsessive worries, or who are paralyzed by fear, like the fear of failure, falling in love, or trying new things. I also help people with low motivation, low energy, and unexplained feelings of sadness. These experiences can inhibit the creative process, but a thoughtful approach in therapy has the potential to enrich your creative journey and help you heal.
