DIY Halloween Costume
Saturday October 24th, 10am-1pm
Facilitator: Karly
DIY Halloween Costume - Make your Halloween costume dreams come true! Bring your ideas and we can help with basic costume construction at this special Halloween open house. We will have a selection of garments and textile scraps available from our Trash School waste stream. Using your creative superpowers, transform these items and give them another life! Papier-mâché supplies and support are available for those looking to build pieces that can be later painted at home. Basic supplies, instruction, and immaculate vibes will be provided. Come and go as you please 10am-1pm.
This fall-themed event is a great caregiver-and-child art play date or fun for the whole family. Youth 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Activity suggested for ages 6+.
First come first served. No registration required. Sign up to receive a reminder email or send an accessibility request ahead of time.
Covid Safety Protocols
Masks are not required at this time. Masks continue to be available for participants and instructors that are interested in wearing them. We trust that individually and collectively we can exert care in our attendance decisions to promote the wellness of our community if feeling sick or symptomatic
About the facilitator:
Karly Gesine Bergmann is a puppeteer and teaching artist who believes that silliness is sacred. She tours nationally with the Emmy Award-winning company Manual Cinema and has performed her own work in Italy at MoMoTi and at Incanti Figure Theatre Festival; in Chicago at Links Hall, The Logan Center for the Arts, and The Neo-Futurarium; and locally at Open Eye Figure Theatre and Heart of the Beast. As a designer, her puppets have been seen on stage at Nashville Childrens’ Theatre, The Hudson Theatre in Los Angeles, and internationally at The English Theatre of Rome. As a teaching artist she embraces play, silliness, and a person-centered approach for learners of all abilities. Her specialty is helping others develop their own new puppetry work.
